But the poverty there is real. They are families that make Torah their priority, and willingly and proudly give up on Gashmiyus, living in tiny apartments and making do with little. Some of them get by day to day. Some don’t
But come Shavuos, they all need help.
This Shavuos, Kupas Yerushalyim, has a list of 2,160 families who need aid. These are families that proudly carry the torch of Torah throughout the year, and depend almost entirely on Kupat Yerushalayim to prepare food for the chag
We can’t deprive Klal Yisroel’s greatest learners of their oneg yom tov - the chicken, cheese, and wine that every Jew deserves on Shavuos.
