“I Never Thought I’d Be Begging Klal Yisroel Like This…” (Endorsed by Rav Meir Sirota & Rav Chaim Ze’ev Miletzky)

My name is Shlomo Zalman Naor.
I’m a simple yeshiva bochur learning in Yeshivas Rashi.
And right now, my kallah and I are just weeks away from our chasunah — with nothing prepared.

My parents are extremely poor. Growing up, I remember nights when there wasn’t enough for supper, when I quietly pretended I wasn’t hungry so my younger siblings could eat.
Now, as a chosson, I dreamed of finally bringing simcha and dignity to my family. But all the expenses have fallen on me alone — and I have nothing.

I tried everything. I took odd jobs between sedarim. I cut every corner possible. But no matter what I do, the math doesn’t work. We’re missing everything — from the simplest clothes for the chasunah to the basic furniture for our first home.

It breaks me to tell my kallah, “I don’t know how we’ll manage.”
She just smiles and says, “Hashem will send help.”
Maybe you can be that help.

Rav Meir Sirota and my Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Chaim Ze’ev Miletzky, have both written warm letters asking Klal Yisroel to help me stand under the chuppah. Please — if you can help even a little — it will be a tremendous zechus as we build our bayis ne’eman b’Yisrael.

May Hashem bless you with simchos, parnassah, and nachas from your children.

With heartfelt thanks,
Shlomo Zalman Naor

HASKAMOS:

Haskama from Rav Meir Sirota Shlitta (Original letter below):

“I hereby recommend and urgently request support for the dear and esteemed chassan, R’ Shlomo Zalman Naor, may he live and be well.

He has found himself in financial distress, as he has become engaged — may it be at a good and auspicious time — and as is known, wedding expenses are extremely high even at the most basic level. All financial responsibility has fallen upon him alone, and the wedding date is approaching. He has nothing to cover even the minimal expenses required for the wedding. He is a ben Torah and learns in a distinguished yeshiva, and it is a great mitzvah to help him.

Therefore, I turn to our merciful brothers, please have compassion on him, extend a helping hand with open hearts and generous contributions, so that he may be rescued from this difficult situation and be able to enter the chuppah at the proper time and build his home — a faithful Jewish home — according to his pure desire.

In the merit of this great mitzvah, may you be blessed with abundant blessing and success, may all your heartfelt wishes be fulfilled for good and blessing, for happiness and prosperity all your days, and all good things, Amen.

Respectfully, on behalf of this important mitzvah,

Rav Meir Sirota”

Haskama from my Rosh Yeshiva, R’ Chaim Ze’ev Miletzky: (Original letter below):

“I hereby make a heartfelt request on behalf of the distinguished young man, outstanding in Torah study and yiras shamayim, R’ Shlomo Zalman Naor. He has grown and elevated himself in our holy yeshiva, Yeshivas Rashi, learning Torah with awe and becoming a true ben aliyah.

He is now engaged, Beezrat Hashem, to build a faithful home for Hashem and His Torah.

However, at precisely this time, due to various circumstances, all the wedding expenses from his side have fallen upon him, and he does not have even the minimum means to cover them. It is a great mitzvah to stand beside him, support him, and assist in this mitzvah of helping a chosson and kallah, for he has nothing at all and no one to rely on.

Those who assist will be blessed with the blessings promised in the Torah to those who support Torah and who participate in the mitzvah of helping establish a new home.

With request and blessing,

Chaim Ze’ev Miletzky

Rosh Yeshivas Rashi ”
