Hi,
My name is Basya Levy and I am a mother of 8. Life was never easy, but my husband Mordy worked tirelessly as a mashgiach to provide for our family. We were so looking forward to marrying off our daughter Gayil - our first simcha. We began planning, dreaming of the joy we would feel under the chuppah. But then everything changed.
Just two weeks ago, my devoted husband began to feel weak. We rushed him to the hospital, praying it was nothing serious. But the diagnosis hit us like a thunderbolt: a malignant tumor in his kidneys. He was immediately hospitalized and is now undergoing aggressive treatment. He can barely move. He cannot work. And we don't know if he will even be able to walk our precious daughter to her chuppah.
If you could see our family now, you wouldn't see the joy that should be there for a kallah. You see fear. You see tears. My husband is fighting for his life, and I am required to be by his side constantly, taking him to treatments and caring for him. I cannot work. We have no income. The medical bills are mounting.
B"H, our daughter Gayil is a kallah. Her wedding is in just 6 weeks. Gayil has suffered so much in these past two weeks, watching her father in a hospital bed, not knowing if he'll survive. Not being able to get married would devastate her. We need help to pay for it.
This is not just a mitzvah of Hachnasas Kallah, which rewards its performers in both this world and the next, but also pikuach nefesh. In the merit of helping us, may Hashem grant you abundance in parnassah and the ability to marry off all of your children with ease.
Thank you,
Basya Levy
