UPDATE (Dec. 11): Just a few days until Chaya’s chasuna! The little ones are excited—but we still don’t have enough money for things to set up her new little home. If you can sponsor $500 for beds or $250 for a refrigerator or an oven, or even $75 for new linen, it would mean the world for this kallah who just lost her mother.
We are the Ben-Shoshan children. We live in Ofakim. And we just watched our mother take her last breath.
For two years, our mother suffered. We sat by her bedside, all 7 of us, davening that she would survive. But Hashem has taken her from us, and now we are orphans.
Since her passing, there's been almost no food in the house. We are all falling apart. Our father is only 54, but he's collapsing—last week he had a cardiac event from the stress and trauma of watching Ima die. He can barely function now. The eldest girl in our family is supposed to be getting married in three weeks, but there just isn't enough money.
Our family is in a state of heartbreak and emergency. Please, help us survive this. And please give our sister the chance to begin her new life with her head held high, while our mother looks down on her with pride from shamayim.
Thank you,
The Ben-Shoshan Children- Ofakim, Israel
