“Mommy, will I have a new dress for Succos?”
Malky is the sweetest 8-year-old you will ever meet. Her blue eyes sparkle with childish purity, and her hair is neatly gathered into two braids. It’s when you notice her clean but faded clothing that you realize - Malky doesn’t have a new dress to wear for Yom Tov.
Malky is just one of thousands of children across Yerushalayim who live below the poverty line - her parents struggle to feed her and her siblings daily. As Tishrei begins, and the streets of Geula fill with shoppers, Malky and her sisters can only imagine the luxury of a new dress to wear for Yom Tov and the new winter season. Her brothers would never dream of asking for a new suit or long jacket - their parents just can’t afford it.
This Tishrei, Kupas Yerushalayim is working to change that reality and provide 2,000 children across Yerushalayim with new clothing for Yom Tov - and make their spirits soar! A child without a new outfit feels embarrassed to leave the house on Yom Tov, they can’t play with their friends or step into shul.
The funds from this campaign will provide each child with a gift card in a children’s clothing store where they can purchase a Yom Tov outfit that they will be proud and happy to wear throughout the winter season.
Give 2,000 children in Yerushalayim a joyous Yom Tov by sponsoring a new set of Yom Tov clothing today!
